The premiere of the new ‘Tron Legacy’ movie saw scores of celebrities take to the red carpet at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday night.
Columbia Pictures staged the lavish occasion, with Garret Hedlund supporting the event after missing the UK premiere.
Hedlund said: “I saw it with some friends two weeks ago on a smaller Technicolour screen in Montreal. But it was still an incredible experience, a total high-tech adventure;exhilarating to say the least.
He added: “I’ve never seen anything like this before and I can’t wait to see it again, I think these 3-D glasses could shatter such is quality of the special effects.”
Suited and booted, Hedlund joined the stunning Olivia Wilde who donned a beautiful gold sequin dress. Alongside his wife Susan, Oscar-winner Jeff Bridges sported sophisticated formal wear. The experienced actor and his co-star Bruce Boxleitner sported some chic eyewear, with Bridges sporting some edgy sunglasses while Boxleitner went with a pair of cool prescription glasses.
The other cast members included Michael Sheen, Beau Garret and Electro funk artists Daft Punk who make a cameo appearance in the film as well as contributing towards the music score. Director Joseph Kosinski also graced the red carpet. A number of other A-Listers graced the blue carpet including Tom Cruise, Joe Jonas, Will Ferrell and Jenna Malone.
“Tron Legacy” is the sequel to the 1982 cult-classic “Tron”. Kosinski’s movie follows Sam Flynn as he investigates the disappearance of his father Kevin. Once the CEO of Encom and the world’s best video game developer, when Kevin vanishes his company is left in chaos to his young son Sam. Sam is sucked into the same ferocious world as his father, where everyday is a struggle to stay a live; Kevin has been living in this world for 25 years. “Tron Legacy” is made in 3-D and will hit cinemas on December 17.
