San Francisco’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has set a closing date for September 11, according to the production’s Instagram post. The production originally opened at the Curran Theater in 2019, subsequently reopening in the condensed one-part revision February 9 of this year.
The play, written by Jack Thorne and based on a story by J.K. Rowling, Thorne, and director John Tiffany, follows Harry Potter’s youngest son as he starts his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
John Skelley plays the title wizard, alongside Steve O’Connell as Ron Weasley, Lily Mojekwu as Hermione Granger, Lucas Hall as Draco Malfoy, and Angela Reed as Ginny Potter. The next generation of wizards features Benjamin Papac as Albus Potter, Folami Williams as Rose Granger-Weasley, and Jon Steiger as Scorpius Malfoy.
Rounding out the cast are Chadd Alexander, John Alix, William Bednar-Carter, Ebony Blake, Melanie Brezill, Shannon Cochran, Jamyl Dobson, Irving Dyson Jr., Gary-Kayi Fletcher, Eleasha Gamble, Kita Grayson, Logan James Hall, Abbi Hawk, Corey Hedy, Chance Marshaun Hill, Nathan Hosner, Timothy W. Hull, Nick Hyland, Charles Janasz, Cynthia Jimenez-Hicks, Joel Leffert, Chanté Odom, Erik Evan Olson, Christian Pedersen, Elise Southwick, Tuck Sweeney, Geoffrey Wade, and Brittany Zeinstra.
John Tiffany, director of the original Broadway and London productions, oversees a creative team that includes Steven Hoggett (movement), Christine Jones (set), Katrina Lindsay (costumes), Imogen Heap (music and arrangements), Neil Austin (lighting), Gareth Fry (sound), Jamie Harrison (illusions and magic), and Martin Lowe (music supervision and arrangements).
Cursed Child is also playing in London, Melbourne, New York City, Toronto, and Hamburg.
