Entertainment has cyclical traits, our love affair with the creatures of the night has spanned centuries of folklore. With more and more fantasy shows appearing on the small screen it is no wonder that vampires are getting a lot of airtime.

In fact often ‘good’ vampires are implicated in love stories with human characters. True Blood’s Sookie Stackhouse is seen to have a day job as a waitress as well as fighting evil by night.
The latest vampire series is True Blood. This series sees vampires fighting for their rights, and combating their fears. It is quite a sexualised TV series, aimed at an adult audienceInitially written as teen literature, the TV series is very much made for an adult audience
