Mena Suvari has a role in Chicago Fire

Mena Suvari has joined the cast of hit fire department drama Chicago Fire.

The American Beauty star will join the NBC TV show in a recurring role in the next season, Deadline said.

She will play a character called Isabella who will be drafted in to help Mouch (Christian Stolte) in his campaign to become president of the Chicago Firefighters Union.

Mena’s character is also a friend of Dawson, played by Monica Raymond, and although her relationship with Mouch is strictly professional, she’s set for romance with another of Mouch’s fellow firefighters.

The 34-year-old actress has made appearances in a number of other TV series, including American Horror Story and Six Feet Under.

She can be seen later this year in horror movie Last Stop with Brian Austin Green and next year in comedy A Bet’s A Bet.
