Kristen Bell has revealed that the Veronica Mars film felt like a “love fest”.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star is to reprise her role as private investigator Veronica Mars in the big-screen adaptation of the TV show. She will also produce the movie, which has been directed and written by the show’s creator Rob Thomas, and has finished shooting.
“It was absolutely everything I wanted. It was a fabulous reunion with old friends,” she said.
“We made something really special and it felt really good the whole time, knowing that we were doing it for an audience that actually asked us to do it. It was a love fest.”
The film, which is based on the cancelled crime-comedy series, follows a successful fan-fundraising campaign through Kickstarter, which raised two million US dollars in less than 10 hours.
Footage from the movie was previewed at Comic-Con International in San Diego in July, showing Veronica as a hot-shot New York lawyer returning to her hometown and meeting up with her old pals including Wallace Fennell (Percy Daggs III), Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring), Cindy ‘Mac’ Mackenzie (Tina Majorino) and Stosh ‘Piz’ Piznarski (Chris Lowell).
The Veronica Mars film is expected to be released in 2014.
