Martin and Gary Kemp are to reunite on the big screen in new British action film Assassin.
The Spandau Ballet siblings – who last appeared in a film together in 1991 gangster movie The Krays – will star opposite hardman Danny Dyer.
Ex-EastEnder Martin and his songwriter brother Gary will play sinister gangsters the Alberts in the action-love story about a contract killer who faces a dilemma when he realises his latest victim is the father of the woman he has fallen for.
Producer Jonathan Sothcott said: “The Krays is one of the best-loved British films of all time, an untouchable classic that only a lunatic would remake, but at the core of that movie are the fantastic performances of Martin and Gary.
“Reuniting them for Assassin is a real coup, a dream come true, and I know their army of fans are going to love seeing what unpleasant plans they have for Mr Dyer.”
The brothers played real life London gangsters Ronald and Reginald Kray on screen 22 years ago.
Assassin is due to begin filming on location in London in September and the film is set for release 2014.
Sothcott is a longtime collaborator of Danny’s, having previously produced his dvd Danny Dyer’s Football Foul Ups.
Sothcott has also produced a host of British gangster movies, similar to those Danny is famous for, such as The Business and The Football Factory.
