2012

2012

Slim pickings this week, since it looks like nobody wanted to go up against the next great disaster flick.  Having consumed just about every variation of “Natural Phenomena Gone Wild” over the years, somebody at Sony Pictures thought, “Hmm, we’re out of ways to destroy the world, so why don’t we just combine them all into one?”  Predicated on the absurd notion that because the Mayan calender ends in 2012 there must not be anything after that, this movie is sure to be the big budget thriller of the week.  Granted, it’s the ONLY big budget thriller this week….

Pirate Radio

Now, this is my kind of movie. From the description:

In the 1960s this group of rougue DJs, on a boat in the middle of the Northern Atlantic, played rock records and broke the law all for the love of music. The songs they played united and defined an entire generation and drove the British government crazy. By playing Rock n Roll they were standing up against the British government who did everything in their power to shut them down.

Nothing I like better than sticking it to the man, and if you go see this instead of 2012 that’s just what you’ll be doing.  JOIN ME IN SOLIDARITY AGAINST THE MAN!  SEE GOOD MOVIES!
