The Best Way to Watch Movie At Home

The truth is that many people do enjoy watching movies in the comfort of their own homes. It is comfortable, relaxing and a place that one feels most at ease. There is no need to stand in queues or wait for a long time outside cinemas just to get tickets, and waiting for the show to start. With the availability of dvds, watching movies at home is very easy and fun to do.

One of the easiest ways to get a dvd to watch at home is to rent it via an online dvd rental store. It saves you time for having to browse through rows and rows of movie titles at the video rental store. A simple search for the movie title will give you instant results and you can just go ahead and rent it right away. You can easily get recommendations based on your favorite genre of movies.

On top of that, there is no danger of getting on the list of users who are illegally watching pirated dvds. All the dvds available at an online rental store are original copies, hence you are guaranteed to get the best picture and sound quality. This makes watching movies more enjoyable and you can get a cinema experience at home.

The fact that renting is more affordable than buying makes it an attractive quality for many people. There are also no issues of storage or piling up of dvds at home. The great thing is that the dvds are even delivered right into your mail box, hence making it as simple as going to your mail box to pick it up. Returning to online dvd stores is just as easy. They usually provide a return envelope and all you have to do is put the dvd into the post box to return it.

GreenCine and Online DVD Rental

GreenCine is a smaller and less known online dvd rental service. Their aim is to capture a smaller and somewhat niche part of the online dvd rental market. They do several different things to make them standout from the major competitors of Netflix and Blockbuster.

First, their focus of available movies is cult and independent. They want to be at the leading edge of independent titles and cult classics. Movies that are from festivals or obscure classics that are hard to find. This makes them a leader in this field and if you are person who loves cult and independent films you are more than likely going to choose GreenCine over the larger competitors.

Second, they are developing a community. GreenCine’s site offers discussion boards and forums to talk about films. This helps when dealing with films that usually spread by word of mouth. For GreenCine, this aids the niche business that they are running. A community is a place to meet and discuss a common topic. They are less likely to leave the community. Also, members can find movies with the help of other members. The reviews are from the heart of movie lovers and because of this they are trusted. A movie that is recommend by popular members will more than likely create additional revenue from that one title for GreenCine. The community is an investment for continuing business. The core group will always be generating revenue for GreenCine.

Third is the price they can charge for the niche. The cost plans from GreenCine start at $9.95/month for one dvd at a time. Compare this with the low end plan from Netflix which is $4.99 per month and you get two dvds at a time. The high end plan from GreenCine is $49.95 per month for eight dvds at a time. This is truly high end for independent movie watchers.

Fourth is the idea a “quick return.” This allows members to say the most recent selection is in the mail so send me the next one from my list. This aids with the fact average delivery time for GreenCine is 2 to 4 days. This is twice as long as the major competitors Blockbuster and Netfix that state 1 to 2 day ship times. This option is not offered by Netflix and Blockbuster. Furthermore, GreenCine ships on Saturday, which is not done by Netflix or Blockbuster.

GreenCine’s name is almost an indication of the company’s social stance. Green could be seen for standing for their position for giving back. They sponsor film events and donate different monies to ensure a thriving independent movie industry.

GreenCine call themselves the “film addicts website.” This is back their community focus and niche of independent and cult classics rentals. There are far left of their competitors and their members are seemingly joining something more than just a place to get online dvd rentals.

What to Look For in an Online DVD Rental

Online dvd rental has been around for a couple years and there are several offering to choose from and it leaves consumers with some serious options. There are over ten different companies that offer online dvd rental and each are different in their offerings.

The first and most recognizable is Netflix. They compete for the general consumer with huge offerings and several different plans. On the other side of online dvd rental companies are the niche providers like GreenCine and Ehit. These companies have a niche focus to meet the needs not met by the large companies like Netflix.

The first thing to look for in online dvd rental is the selection. Large companies like Netflix have over 100,000 different titles. Does this meet you’re your movie watching needs? Maybe Netflix genres like anime are not large enough for you. That is when niche providers come in handy like GreenCine. It could also be the need for Asia language programming and then Ehit could be what you are looking for.

Second thing to look for in online dvd rental is service. This could include the average shipping time. With Netflix and Blockbuster shipping times are listed to be one to two days. With the niche online dvd providers it could be a few more days. Second, could be the search and ratings systems provided. You are renting movies online and could be faced with little info about a possible movie. The rating system could be detailed and provide other viewers ratings. Also, search could help you easily find movies. Another aspect could be the offerings of Blockbuster with in-store exchanges of dvds or the ability to stream content to your home computer with Netflix.

The last thing to look for in online dvd rental is the cost of the service. There are several choices. Online dvd companies like Blockbuster have eleven different monthly subscriptions to choose from. The Niche providers like GreenCine, have less plans and they often cost more. They might cost more but you are paying for the niche that they provide.

To choose you must know what your needs are and what you are willing to spend each month. The growth in the industry of online dvd rental allows consumers find exactly what they need or want.

Online Movie Service From Netflix

Netflix is one of the first companies to offer mail delivery for dvd rentals. They have more than 100,000 movies that are available for rent and sent through mail delivery. Their systems let’s their customers choose the movies and rent without having to go an actual video rental store. The rented movie is then delivered by the postal service to the customer’s doorstep in a span of 24-hours.

So after watching the movie, the customer then drops it back to the post office box using the pre-paid envelope. The next movie will then be delivered to the customer once the return is made. As long as you have a list of movies rented under your name then movies will keep coming until you get to the end of your list.

Late fees are a thing of the past. You do not have to keep on returning dvds on time and sometimes late fees accumulate because you are too busy to return them back. This situation is such a hassle and worst you might be banned from renting dvds because of the late fees you have incurred. But through Netflix online movie service this is all taken care of. You just choose and rent the movies you want then seat back and relax.

Since there is a membership involved, you can also cancel your membership anytime you like. You will not be asked for any fees to cancel your account. They will immediately cancel your account as you requested. If you are not sure that you will be satisfied with the service then you can try it for 2 weeks without any hassle.

On the other hand, if you do not want to wait 24 hours to watch the movie you rented you can opt to download the movie. The download will take about an hour or less depending on the speed of your internet connection. This option will let you watch the movie on your computer.

Prices are very affordable and usually renting movies costs only half of the price when buying dvd. So check out Netflix online movie service.

Online DVD Rentals – How Computer Internet Technology Has Transformed the Way People Rent DVDs

If you thought that the only way to rent dvds was to head down to the local Blockbuster or Hollywood Video, you’ll be in for a nice surprise. Thanks to the ease and comfort of the Internet, you can now rent dvds online from companies such as Netflix, Intelliflix and even Blockbuster Online.

One of the features of renting dvds online is the pricing structure. If you rent a dvd from a popular brick-and-mortar store, you can expect to pay about $6 per movie, including taxes. One of the most popular plans offered by these online dvds rental services is a $17.99 plan which lets you rent out 3 dvd’s at a time with no limits on how many you rent per month.

Consider the fact that if you rent just 3 dvds per month, then you already get your full money’s worth, but the reality is that you can rent as many movies as you want for the same flat rate. Plus, with no extra fees such as shipping, and the time and gas you save, it’s almost a no-brainer to set up an account with one of these online dvd rental services. As an added bonus, all of these services offer a free trial where you can give it a try. If you don’t like it, then simply cancel your account within the trial period, and it won’t cost you a cent.

Renting dvds online is very easy to do. Just use your home computer and Internet connection: log onto your account and browse through all the available movies. All of the online dvd rental services make the navigation simple to use and understand. Most of the movies are grouped into categories such as Drama, Comedy, Action, Foreign and New Releases so you can browse through hundreds of titles within minutes. There’s usually a review of each film also so you can get a preview of what the plot is about. Then all you do is simply place every movie you want to watch into your “to view” list. Within a couple business days, they will ship the dvds at the top of the list to your home.

Another convenience is that there are no late fees associated with these online dvd rental services. You keep each dvd for as long as you want, until . Once you return the dvd back in the return envelope, simply wait a day or two for it to clear your queue and the next movie on your list will be delivered.

I have tried both Netflix and Blockbuster Online and I can honestly testify that these online dvd rental services are a great deal (though I give Blockbuster a slight edge). I have caught up on hundreds of movies in the past couple of years. Also, they rent TV show dvd’s so I’ve been able to catch up on many TV shows as well. The $14.99 I currently pay per month for my service is simply an outstanding value.

Give it a chance and I bet you’ll also find it superior to the old way of renting dvds. Remember, if you’re not feeling sure about online dvd rentals, there’s usually a free trial where you can check it out risk free.

Online DVD Rental – Is it Worth It?

Back in the 1980’s renting a movie from your local high street store was all the rage. You could take a trip to the shops and come back with all the latest releases, borrow them for a night and then return them to the shop the next day.

dvd rental by post was the next evolution of this service, becoming the most popular method of renting movies in recent years.

    How Does It Work?

Renting movies by post is a quite simple process, thanks to something we like to call the Internet. The customer simply has to request a dvd rental account online and uses the online interface to request copies of the movies they want and the order in which they would like to receive them.

The movies are then dispatched to the customers address with a pre-paid return envelope. All the customer then has to do is pop the movies back in the post when they have finished watching them.

    How Much Does It Cost?

There a number of different packages available when renting movies online, that start from as little as ?3.88 per month for up to two films a month with the customer receiving only one at a time (at time of writing). There are more expensive packages available where you can keep up to 3 movies at a time whilst borrowing an unlimited number per month.

    Is It Worth It?

Whilst the number of movies you can borrow per month will never be as many as that are available through the movie premium channels on TV, you will have access to the latest releases much earlier when renting.

Also, the alternatives at the minute are not so good. Streaming movies via the Internet is still in its infancy and is quite costly, also renting via your TV service is comparatively quite expensive (renting online is half the cost of just one pay per view movie for example).

There is only one person who can decide whether renting movies by post is right for you, and thankfully to help unsure customers make up their minds most dvd rental companies offer generous free trials that can last up to 30 days. So my advice would be is to try before you buy to make sure you fully utilise the service.

NetFlix Service Brings the Entertainment to Your Door

Paradise has arrived with Netflix service, at least from the perspective of movie buffs. What could be more convenient than reserving movies online and then finding them in your mailbox in a couple of days? And that’s if you don’t opt to watch them on your computer immediately instead.

Nobody can deny that Netflix and similar services optimize convenience by letting us skip the trip to the video store. Even more important to some people these days, though, is the saved gasoline. Who can argue with saved time and saved money? And if you’re seeking an obscure movie you are more likely to find it among this video service’s immense selection than anywhere else.

On that note, the Netflix subscription is a bargain in itself, as the various plans cover rental cost as well as shipping in both directions. Subscribers pay by the month and can choose from four plans, some with a limited number of rentals and some without. Other variables include how many dvds can be rented at one time, and whether or not the subscriber plans to watch movies instantly on their PC. Most people opt for the 3 dvds-at-a-time plan. Postage-paid envelopes arrive in the package with the movies, making return as easy as pie. If there are titles remaining in the user’s queue they are sent out as previous ones are received back at the warehouse.

The movie-loving consumer has other options, too. Blockbuster Video, the largest video-rental chain, began offering mail delivery in response to Netflix’s huge success. Videos could then be returned in the physical store and the customer could take home a new movie from that location’s inventory without having to wait for the Pony Express. Blockbuster’s subscription plans are similar to those offered by its biggest competitor, but the number of rentals allowed at a time is capped at three.

A slightly different service, Redbox, lets renters reserve videos online to retrieve at an automated kiosk, usually located inside a supermarket, or they can simply visit the kiosk and see what it holds. The major difference is in selection; Redbox specializes in recent releases, and instead of having a vast array of titles the units will hold multiple copies of popular rentals. After viewing, the subscriber still has to get into the car to return the movies, but since the kiosks are located in shopping areas (and sometimes McDonald’s restaurants) this errand is easily combined with others.

Which online dvd rental option is the best choice depends on the individual, but the Netflix service is the clear winner in popularity, undoubtedly because of its superlative selection and ease of use. As with anything else, you should take a look at the movie selection and cost of each, weigh the pros and cons, read through the policies, and then decided which one you prefer.
